The Dream On Foundation has received more great publicity, this time from Cleveland’s own Dawn Kendrick of WKYC channel 3 news. In a three and a half minute long segment which aired on May 19th, MIm Conway was interviewed along with several of the the Dream On Kids. The DOK family mourns the passing of Candy Ward


It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Eloise “Candy” Ward (nee. Smith), the mother of our own Adrienne Ward. Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire Ward family in their time of need. Adrienne will be moving to Sandusky to live with her Brother Lavaunt Bates, and his family. Dream On’s Annual Fundraiser a Smashing Success!

Good times were had by all at The Dream On Kids’ annual fundraiser at Nighttown restaurant on cedar road in Cleveland Heights February 27th. Over 100 people attended the event to support Dream On’s upcoming trip to New Orleans. Webster, Carr, & Custy, Shaw High School’s Progeny Jazz Band, as well as The Dream On Kids Jazz Band all performed. Guests participated in raffles for tickets to local events as well as a 60/40 raffle. In addition there was a wine pull and t-shirts for sale. A special thanks to Brendon Ring and Melissa from Nighttown, Flo Brett from Effective Leadership Academy, Jan Thrope from Inner Visions, Jim, Mary, Mike, and Courtney Conway from Beverage Distributors, Shawn Rolik and Claudia Satica from Bevino, Saint Dominic Church, and all the DOK board members. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Congratulations to Dream On Kid Daryl Grimes on competing in his first 8th grade Men’s varsity basketball game at Entrepreneurship Preparatory Charter School on Cleveland’s near east side. Daryl has been playing basketball since childhood and currently serves as assistant coach to Terry Lipford at University School in Hunting Valley. The E-Prep Cliffs won the game 31-4 which was contested on Wednesday, January 20th. Daryl hopes to attend MC2STEM next year; His favorite subject is science.
